The AntiCancer Diet

One of the lessons of these studies is that moderate changes (a diet with 20% to 30% of calories from fat) may be sufficient to help prevent breast cancer. But if you've already been diagnosed, you probably need to make bigger changes. Aim for less than 10% to 15% of calories from fat, and note these guidelines.
  • Eat Well. There are thousands of food substances that have powerful protective properties. With few exceptions, these factors are found in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and some fish, so emphasize these foods to minimize your risk. Take 3 grams a day of fish oil, and stay away from all other added oils. Drink green tea. Avoid foods high in fat and refined carbohydrates, which may promote cancer, and avoid alcohol.
  • Exercise. Walk 30 minutes a day. Women who do regular physical activity may reduce the incidence of breast cancer by 20% to 30%.
  • Ease up. Chronic stress may increase the risk of breast cancer. Research shows that women with breast cancer who were the most depressed had a significantly increased risk of relapse or death. So breathe, meditate, do yoga, pray, practice tai chi. And spend time with friends and family: Women with metastatic breast cancer who met in a support group once a week for a year lived nearly twice as long as those who didn't have the emotional support.

They're Famous!

Have you watched the movie "pineapple Express"? I haven't but in relation to this, I came across an article about what they called a fake weed smoke-out parody at the 2008 MTV Awards and also was used throughout the movie "Pineapple Express."
International Oddities that sells non-tobacco legal bud smoking products has indeed made its way into the world of Hollywood movies where most of the products were used mainly in the scenes. Products from International Oddities, Inc. (aka) I.O. are intended for tobacco alternative use.

Many Hollywood actors and actresses, such as Chris Brown, Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith and Ann Hathaway, including many other customers of I.O. are just amazed by the remarkable aroma of the product. Their smoking line is considered to be unique and innovative that makes the public get that initial shocking experience upon learning about the legal bud smokes.

No wonder, they are the top 10 legal buds in the world! For over 2 decades, I.O. is considered to be the original legal bud smoke shop and is the innovator of the legal bud industry! Industry insiders that were in a trade show recently had shared their opinion about one of the pleasurable smoking line offered by I.O. such as Krypto and Panama Gold Bud represents the future of smoking in America.

Beijjing Olympics Mania

If there is somebody who is one of the avid fans of the Olympics, hubby is just one :). Everytime he comes home from work, he's glued to the TV set and cheers for his team (Team USA).

And if there is any athlete who is an attention getter, it's Michael Phelps. He now gets a new world record for getting 7 gold medals in a row. Is the 8th coming? We're both looking forward to that. And by the way, this guy is from Maryland. We are Marylanders, so there's no reason not to cheer for him all the way until he completes getting his gold :).

Go Team USA!

A Smart Car

While surfing online, I saw this car called smart fortwo. I actually first saw it in LA parked in one side of the road and had been a "head turner" :). It looks like a toy car, almost as big as the bump car they use in amusement park! LOL! But seriously, this is now being released here in the US and had just arrived in the country last January of 2008.
It became the "it" car not only in Europe but worldwide and has become more than just fuel efficient transportation. Of course, obviously with the gas soaring up high and now with a $4/galloon, who wouldn't think of considering buying a car as small as that!

Did you know that this car achieved the highest ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety both for front and side crashworthiness?

Smart is a vital member of Mercedez-Benz cars, - a Daimer AG Company.

I am curious to see this up close. If you are not fond of carrying much stuff, then perhaps it's an ideal one don' you think? A regular shopper should be fine. I love petite cars.

National Potters Exhibit and Conference

For potters enthusiasts, there should be a great event you should look forward to;- the National Potters Exhibit and Conference which will be held in Inidianapolis and hosted by the American Art Clay Company. Polymer Clay Technique Books which can also be bought online can further make you discover fun working with polymer clay.

When it comes to clay potter wheel, Brent wheels are considered to be the world's most popular wheel due to their high quality strength and durability, reversible electronic speed control as well as Brent offers the best service in the industry. They also offer five year warranty on Brent wheels and two year warranty in Amaco wheels. You might as well be interested on their special offer of $70 gift of Amaco Glazes when you buy a Brent wheel.

When it comes to glazes, AMACO is the leading manufacturer of lead-free glazes, considered to be safe for children. They are also suitable for use on food or drink containers and are certified dinnerware-safe. It's always a good idea to know more about glazes, so feel free to read the glaze information provided on the site, as well as in the PDF format.

Center your clay

Are you a ceramic art hobbyist? Does your school offer ceramic programs? Or do you know any friend of yours who need one for his/her contemporary clay studios? Well, it's time to get to know about this centering device by the Quick Center System.
Nowadays, ceramic programs in schools are even offered as early as elementary grades. Even a teacher without any throwing experience can still teach students to use Quick Center. This is a method of a revolutionized system for throwing on the potter's wheel. It greatly helps reduce the frustration for many enthusiasts who experience this at first because it clearly eliminates free-hand centering by cutting an exact plug of clay making it locked and centered to the wheel head.
By August 2008, the Quick Center System will become available in the market, although pre-orders are being taken by calling AMACO/Brent customer service provided on the site or by emailing them. How it works is really very simple. Mainly, the goal is making a perfect aim of centering on the potter's wheel.
To clearly understand how the Quick Center system works, you might want to watch some videos for demonstrations on the new products for the potter's wheel.

A Heartwarming Story

If you happen to experience about this kind of story, please pass it on...Isn't it a fulfilled feeling not only emotionally, but spiritually?

"WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND"

One day a man saw an old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but
even
in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help.. So he pulled up
in
front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when
he
approached her..
Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to
help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look
safe; he looked poor and hungry.

He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He
knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you.

He said, 'I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car
where
it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.'

Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad
enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack,
skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the
tire.
But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt.

As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and
began
to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only
just
passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.

Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she
owed
him.. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already
imagined
all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan
never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This
was
helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given
him
a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never
occurred to him to act any other way.

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she
saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance
they
needed, and Bryan added, 'And think of me.'

He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold
and
depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing
into
the twilight.

A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab
a
bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her
trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas
pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and
brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one
that
even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady
noticed
the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the
strain
and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had
so
little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan .

After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill.
The
waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the
old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the
waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then
she
noticed something written on the napkin.

There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: 'You
don't
owe me anything. I have
been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I'm helping you. If
you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this
chain
of love end with you.'

Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.

Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to
serve,
but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got
home
from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and
what
the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her
husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be
hard....

She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to
her,
she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, 'Everything' s
going
to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson.'

There is an old saying 'What goes around comes around.' Today I sent you
this story, and I'm asking you to pass it on. Let this light shine.

Don't delete it, don't return it. Simply, pass this on to a friend

Good friends are like stars.....You don't always see them, but you know
they are always there.
~GOD BLESS!~
