"Take As Directed"-Take It To Heart

Do you take any prescription drugs? How about over-the-counter (OTC) medications? If you do, take a look at the guidelines below. They can give you an update on how to make sure your medications keep you healthy and safe:
  • Always read and follow the label directions on all prescription and OTC products. And pay close attention to your doctor's or pharmacist's directions for taking the medication.
  • Take only the correct amount and number of doses at the time of day as written on the label. Taking a similar dose to save money or a bigger dose for faster results is risky for your health. It may lead to bad side effects.
  • If you think the amount you take needs to be adjusted, call your doctor to discuss making any changes.
