How to Save a Dying Party

The key to a good party is being in a tight space. If the party is in your house, turn off lights in a few rooms and make everyone congregate in the living room or the kitchen, instead of letting your visitors wander all over your house. Above all, if you have any concerns, don't let it show. Everyone will have a great time if you seem to be having one, too.

Being a hostess, it's your responsibility to introduce everyone and let them know what they have in common.
Good mingling with others starts with a good list. Although ideally, everyone knows one or two people making them comfortable - but they don't know everyone in the room.

If people are leaving early, make the guests who remain feel like VIPs, not stragglers. Pour shots, move some furniture or turn on the dance music.
