Keeping Your Pets Cool.

Sweltering heat increases your pet's risk of heatstrokes. Some helpful tips on keeping your cat and dog pets cool:

  • Watch out for hot pavement. If it's too hot for you to walk barefoot, it's too hot for your dog.
  • Let cats bat around an ice cube.
  • Reward your dog or cat with frozen treats, or simply freeze a treat inside an ice cube.
  • Try a body cooler pet mat for pooches. Copolymer crystals keep pup cool (but watch him if he's a chewer.)
  • Never shave a dog. (Skin tends to burn) For pet with light skin, rub a sunscreen with SPF 15 or more on ears and nose.
