Smoking Facts

There are many reasons to quit smoking. But quitting from smoking needs serious attention on the smoker's part and it's always nice to have a helping hand.

One way is to identify which ones are really true and not about smoking.
  • Smoking keeps your weight less, but they tend to pack fat in their bellies raising the risk for diabetes and heart trouble.
  • Smoking harms almost every organ in the body. It can lead to osteoporosis, hip-fractures, heartburn and ulcers, cancers and blinding eye conditions.
  • If you quit before age 50, your risk of dying within 15 years goes down by 50%. For women, most of smoking's health risks, including cancer and lung problems are erased within 20 years of quitting.
