The Best Time to Fit Your Shoes

If you're planning to buy shoes, the best time would be in the late afternoon, when your feet are swollen from the day's activities. This is when your feet are their "real size".

It's best to bring your socks/stockings you plan to wear with the shoes. The fitting of your shoes should fit perfectly at your toes, arch and heel but to be a tad narrow at the widest part of your foot. Shoes made of leather, fabric or suede all stretch there.

If they happened to be painfully tight at the width, a cobbler can stretch them.
If the shoes slip off at the heel, try a toe insert or a heel grip to get a snug fit.
