Grizzly Man

Last night, I came into switching the TV to animal planet, and then I saw this show entitled "The Diary of a Grizzly Man." The show was about to end, but I was able to see some of the scenes about Timothy Treadwell who was in the middle of a bear country forest. I am fond of watching bears as I do love watching animals :)... In the said video was mostly done by Timothy all by himself while he was on close encounters with the bears. Other parts of the video that shocked me was when he started yelling and screaming and cursing! They edited the cursing part with a beep sound on TV, but it is still obvious by sight. He would have clenched fists and challenging everybody...(am not sure who was he referring to, but as I was trying to catch up on what the entire video was all about, he was referring to the bear poachers I guess. He seems to be an avid supporter for bears, he studies their behavior, and live with them in the forest. Then, there are times he really was talking weird, and would be shouting "I am great!, "___CK You"...etc.
It turned out he died being attacked by a bear, as it was related by a group of his friends. His girlfriend, Amie was with him several times in the forest too, and she too died. The reason of her death was still doubtful to some, that she was either killed by Timothy or she was also killed by a bear.
The group of Timothy's friends had as well gathered some conclusions that Timothy was alcoholic, and has psychological problems. (Obviously, you can really read how his behavior was in his series of videos, being inconsistent at times.
Timothy's close encounters with the bears were really impressive. I mean, it's tough being with bears and poke their nose! (which he and her girlfriend did in the video). But I guess, this is not an ideal stuff to let the kids see on TV. It's not worth recommending...No wonder, I stayed up until 2am. Good thing it's in the we hours in the morning. Kids are asleep. Hhhmmm, how about those kids who were awake that time...who loves animal planet???...oh, I would like to think they were just holding on tight on their gameboy! Lol!

First Meta-Social Search Engine

Have you heard about this first Search Engine that is a Hybrid-Meta-Community and at the same time a social engine? If not, then try this one that keeps even getting better with lesser spams from EarthFrisk.org. It is now highly compared to Google, Yahoo and MSN results, but the good news is that it keeps improving. It is considered to be highly competitive to that of a Google Page rank which is being done far more democratic than what Google does. They do it in a way where people would be voting and commenting which can then be translated into a CV (color value) rating system. In this way, people at the same time is improving the results considering that this search engine has lesser spams. This is one cool thing. They have a custom made tool bar for bloggers with their logo on it which help promote lots of traffic. Now, look who's talking...I'm gonna try it!

"Spaghetti Strings"-Only in the Philippines!

My husband is always the type of person who is very obervant. That is the reason why I tell him he knows me very well, from the wrinkling of my nose to the type of mood I have when I walk. Strange, but he knows how I feel the way I move.

Now, this is the photo he got from our camera while we were in the Philippines and cruising along Malate area. He said it looks like spaghetti! :) Well, yes. He didn't see anything like that here in the US, and I grinned and told him back, "you do see it when you eat pansit" hehehe...

The Meaning of Christmas.

I got this tag from cel. Thanks sis, kahit na delayed na :)

Make a paragraph or two regarding your personal meaning of Christmas, below the paragraph of the one who tagged you and you may put your name at the end of the paragraph linking back to your blog or right to the post of this particular tag. Then you tag as many as you can.

Start copy here:Christmas for me is the ultimate reminder on how much God loves us, that He gave His only Son Jesus Christ to be our Savior. For me, its a celebration of love and a time to share our blessings to others.. a time for giving and reaching out to the less fortunate and it's also a wonderful time to be with your family. Christmas is not just all about santa claus or the gifts that you will receive or for shopping, we should always remember that Jesus is the reason for the season and let us reflect on how much God loves us. - Just Let Go/Pieces of Me

Christmas is about giving love, forgiving. This remind us how lucky and how God love us when he gave us his only son Jesus Christ. A time for sharing our blessing to our family, friends and to others. - Celebrate Life/My Journey.

Christmas for me is not the new things that we have and enjoying the bounties in life but remembering that someone is born to redeem us from our sins and making sure of our salvation Teebob.

The true meaning of christmas for me is sharing, giving, expressing love to one another, and remebering that there is one person up there, who is born on the 25th of december to save us from everything . A lot of people told me that christmas is for kids. yes, it's true but I prefer to say that christmas is for everybody and sharing love to one another is the keyword remeber, "you can give without loving but you can't love without giving ". Alaverde33

Christmas is an annual holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus. The date of the celebration is traditional and is not considered to be his actual date of birth. Christmas festivities often combine the commemoration of Jesus birth with various secular customs, many of which have been influenced by earlier winter festivals. In most places around the world Christmas day happens on December 25. It's a special time of the year - a season of love and a season of giving. A time to share, to give and of course to receive a wonderful gift from beloved..Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

As the word Christmas itself convey, this day is the celebration of Christ. It's his day since this is the day we celebrate his birthday. Everything we do on this day should be in his honor...just like we get the honor when we celebrate our birthdays. So do what you normally do on this day but remember to give the honor to the celebrant himself, Christ. Juliana of Pinay Wahm and Teacher' Corner.

Christmas for me is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. it's also the celebration of love that Jesus Christ spread all over the world by sharing, giving and receiving love from all people of all walks of life. Cecil

Christmas is a day of rejoicing, a day where the most precious gift on earth was given to us by God, and that gift was Jesus. It's the day of sharing not only for material things, but the gift of sharing one's love.
My Blogging Thoughts

I am tagging everybody. Feel free to get the tag gurls. Anyway, it's christmas, everybody should share this to others ;)

"Hurricane On The Bayou"

This is a good movie that we watched at IMAX Theater at Audobon Nature Institute in New Orleans. The movie lasts for 30 minutes it is all about what was the city of New Orleans before hurricane Katrina came. It talks about the importance of proper care for the wetlands, the wildlife on the bayou (or they call it in another term a brookstream), and further shows the day, during and after the hurricane came and go...the latter was the most scary but touching at the end.

It's worth watching. You'll gonna be witnessing a true to life story of people's lives and homes shattered, and now rebuilding hopes, dreams and homes once again.

"Buhay America" (Life in America) by the Filipino Community

I have received this aricle several times through email, and I am sure maybe you have received it too already. This article is actually written by a Filipino working in America. The article will be narrated in Tagalog, but I must say many of you will be able to understand it, particularly Filipinos like me...my kababayans. I just want to share it to those who haven't read it yet, it's true...I hope our folks out there in the Phils. would understand it too :)

Buhay Amerika for the Filipino community
Nov 15, '07 8:10 PM

Lakbayan Tag

This tag came from Del. Thanks sis :)

My Lakbayan grade is C!

How much of the Philippines have you visited? Find out at Lakbayan!

Created by Eugene Villar.

It was only recently that I started to get the chance travelling. And I've noticed I still am a foreigner in my own native land :(

Well, if given the chance to travel extensively, why not? It's just a matter of chance, time, and most of all, money :)) It was only when I got travelling that I have discovered lots of fun and enjoyment doing it. On the other hand, I am travelling a lot in different US States, but not much in my own country huh? Time will tell...

I am tagging Chari, Poray, and Theresa.

Hotel Reservations

Do you travel often? I do. Sometimes, when it becomes urgent, we do usually experience hassles in hotel bookings and ending up getting headaches because we end up booking in a wrong hotel (because price is too much high).I saw online one good site for Hotel Reservations that could save you money for your travel. Did you know that you can save as high as 70% off just for your travel bookings with them? This is considered to be great, great savings for your hotel discounts particularly if you're really a jet setter. Other than that, they have different offerings such as bookings for motels, resorts (this is perfect for the summer vacations!), vacation rentals with vacation packages, plus flight and even car bookings! It means an "all in one" transactions for frequent travellers. One most important thing to consider using this company, is that you can book online with their lowest internet rate price guarantee, and avail up to $100 rebate ! WOW! ....and take a look at this, they give you $30 gas rebate too!Feel free to visit hotel reservations, and start booking for your travel plans now. One good thing is they can book you in world wide destinations. You can choose the country you want provided in the site, and choose any vacation package that is convenient for you.You can also have choices for best bed and breakfast packages, and if you want to rent a condo instead of getting your hotel reservations, you can do so.They also have discount club membership which when you become a member, you can avail of as high as 70% off discount for many cities worldwide including your favorite destinations.Hhhmmm, I am now thinking of sharing this to my husband, since we're just starting to talk about our pleasure trips at the middle of this year. This is a good option, no doubt.

Common Writing Mistakes

Got another meme from Del. :) here it is:

Here are the rules:~

Start copy paste~

Instructions: To play this game, all you must do is explain what your most common writing mistake is. Then, simply tag 5 people for the meme. Those 5 will, in return, tag 5 more people. Ultimately, readers should see a tapestry of common grammar and spelling mistakes. Therefore, anyone who feels ashamed of their errors will feel a bit more confident and secure.Copy the person and persons' names that sent it to you and add your own at the bottom of the list. It really helps build community. The answers:

Shine with Grace : Mixing the word 'from' with 'form' all the time.
Trinity : I sometimes feel confused to use past tense or present tense when I share my stories.
LadyJava : Typing too fast that sometimes I miss words in between.
Genie King : I type too fast too... always end up with 'tot he'... when it should be 'to the'.
Spiff : I type too fast that I end up with sentences that have no spaceinbetween... LOL!
Nessa : Mostly grammatical mistakes... but it doesn't really bother me as long as my readers understand :)
Choc Mint Girl: Obviously grammatical error due to lack of vocabulary…but getting better and better and better…he he he…
Liza : I type too fast too that's why sometimes my spellings are wrongf... see. Lol ;) And same with Grace, mixing the word from and form at times. (I'll be posting this tag to my other blog
Cecil: errors on grammar and sometimes I don’t know where to place my comma or when to use colon or semi-colon :( too.)Nancy: I'm always trying to use every function of my fingers but can't really help but slip which resulted to pressing the wrong key most of the time.Darlene: I always made a mistake by typing HELATH instead of HEALTH. Sometime the FOR is FOT because the R and the T are very close to each other lol! Anyway i always do mistakes when i type, everybody does i guess no matter how good you are in typing you always make some mistakes.Bisdak Footprints I usually have wrong typo when I am in a hurry typing entries during PPP time because need to be fast so I can grab as many opps as I can.For that, wrong typo making my english look worse to others. They read it before I can do some editing..they might think my english is so bad..ahhermmm...but i edit it anyways...
Twerlermz : I'm using basic or simple english most of the time so i think my most common mistakes are : redundancy, spelling and grammar (toink!)
Thira: I type too fast too, sometimes my mind is way ahead with my typing so I miss out and misspell words and I have to go back and read again and correct it. Sometimes using the past and present tense in writing, and using the hyphen properly, wehehe:)

Ging: It's always hitting the wrong keyboard, like thoughts to tthougths or for to or. :)

Add your link and answer here~
End copy paste~

I am passing this to yenny, poray, Lisa, Lira & Lerlyn.

Tough Day!

I had a tough day today. I woke up having a bad headache, but I had to accompany my husband for his endoscopy appointment. I was so dizzy, and nauseated. It was a bit a relief on the other side of it because if ever I would feel worst, I can just go to the emergency room...gessh! It's really very uncomfortable for me at that moment. I was praying so hard. The nurse called me to follow my hubby to the pre-operating room, and I prayed with him again. I had to go back to the waiting room to wait for the procedure to be done and another 1 hour for my huubby's recovery. I was just like groggy and sleepy on the couch.

Anyway, the doctor spoke to me and said hubby is doing well and recovering. I still have to talk to the doctor next week for his follow up appointment. Thank God! We were able to go back home the same day.

Manila Ocean Park!

This is one big, good, curious catching news that I've read from the news today. I love aquarium parks, I have had several when my hubby took me to several big ocean parks and aquariums here in the US.

Now, this is one good thing that will make me go back to the Philippines once more. For sure, we wouldn't be missing the chance to get to see the place. Good for our nephews and nieces too :) They are one of the few reasons why we keep on going back to the Philippines as well.

How I wish we could see the highlight of the opening on December this year. For sure this would be a BIG bang...it's really good since it would be a big oceanarium, attached to a commercial complex building.(hotels, mall, boutiques, etc..)

It's a world-class marine park, in Manila. :)

My Birthday is still extended! :)

We were a little bit late for church this morning, but we were glad to see our brothers and sisters in Christ meeting us. It's always a warm welcoming for us.
We love our church, and although we seldom see our church bretherens, and as much as we wanted to see and be with them because of our travels, we both feel with my husband that we are always being blessed to have them. In return of the blessings that we are having, I devoted my time to build our church website, and still am currently the website administrator of the church. It's a service I am doing for the Lord, and no matter how busy I am with some other things I need to do, I still am putting this task among my priorities , one way of serving God.

By the way, if you happen to be on the area, please feel free to visit our church and I can assure you there's a warm welcome waiting for you at the door :)

Here's our church website: Laurel Church of God (Laurel, Maryland)
Feel free to contact the webmaster (me :)) or sign on our guestbook.

Anyway, after the worship service, snacks were provided as usual. I was surprise that they bought a cake for me and everybody was singing for me "happy birthday." I then saw my husband holding the cake for me infront while everybody were singing...I was touched, and was so thankful. I really felt so blessed, and thanking the Lord for giving me another wonderful year of life.

My husband told me, I have a one month birthday celebration, so that means I still have a week for more surprises? LOL!

Update!

Hello folks. I decided finally to stick on my current template. Instead, I thought of getting new blog which I can update regularly. I have some few up and running but I am lagging behind updating them. I just thought of deleting them and choose a better hosting domain.

I keep on getting blogs, but I am ending up neglecting them, so what the heck am I doing? :(
I have analyzed this is not a good move. I would rather get one or couple of blog sites and keep them active as much as possible. In that way, I can work on the links and getting a high PR would be a bonus. I am not up to chasing high PR though. Sometimes, I don't believe it's accurate. Although some sponsors prefer higher PR, it's still is not a hindrance in doing the paid blogging hobby. As I've said, if you get the touch of having a high PR, it's a bonus. (still wondering how that works...except that the lower the number you get, the higher your PR. )Make it a one-digit number and you belong to the top 9. :))

So much for that stuff...meantime, it's time to work!

Blog Site Update

Hello friends, I will be updating the templates and design of my blog. There might be some blog hoppers coming in, and just in case, you won't wonder. My site migh become chaotic but I am assuring you this would only be temporary.

My blog is just starting to pick up sponsored posts and so I guess it's time to do some better changes on the physical aspect of it. At least, it's another addition to my income earner blog.

Hope to see you all around from time to time.

"Banana Heart"??

It was pouring hard when we arrived home in Iloilo. While hubby was looking at the window, he was intrigued by a banana tree bearing the blossom. I told him it's edible and is delicious and tasty. He became so much interested and said it's his first time seeing it. He took this shot.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was telling him how is it called..."banana heart", banana blossom"??? I guess there's some term better than that...My mom interruptedly said it's called "puso ng saging", which made hubby's tongue ran twisted, LOL!

Reasons God Permits Problems in your life

This is actually an email sent to me by a sister in Christ. It's worth sharing, just in time for Thanksgiving, I believe.

1. God permits problems to DIRECT you.
Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God allowing this situation to get your attention? "Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways." Proverbs 20:30

2. God permits problems to INSPECT you.
People are like tea bags ... if you want to know what's inside them, just drop them into hot water! Has God tested your faith by allowing a problem or two into your life? What do problems reveal about you? "When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience." James 1:2-3

3. God uses problems to CORRECT you.
Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something...health, money, a relationship...by losing it. "It was the best thing that could have happened to me, for it taught me to pay attention to your laws." Psalms 119:71-72

4. God permits problems to PROTECT you.
A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious. Think about something you may be going through at this very moment… HOLD ON! BE STRONG! "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good"... Genesis 50:20

5. God permits problems to PERFECT you.
Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders. God is far more interested in your character than your comfort. Your relationship to God and your character are the only two things you're going to take with you into eternity. "We can rejoice when we run into problems...they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady." Romans 5:3-4

Here's the point: God is at work in your life-even when you do not recognize it or understand it. However, it's much easier and profitable when you cooperate with Him.

Let's do lift our hands up to Him for Thanksgiving!

Back Home in Maryland :)

I am glad to be back home. After that long hours on the plane (actually, 21 hours, including connecting flights), I was exhausted and barely had no sleep on the plane made me so groggy and sleepy. After getting home later that night of November 19, I just laid down on bed and I slept like a log! :)

Well, I ended up waking at 3am, and can't go back to sleep again. I bet I am still adjusting my sleep routine. Gosh, it's a little bit weird seeing myself going and moving all around the house as early as 3am!

It's really getting cold during the night, and I need to move more actively to get some warm up. Now, I got to wear socks again most of the time.

Thanksgiving is just a night sleep away. So, I am still busy as a bee! And still a birthday celebrant with so much work to do inside the house. I just fought boredom and tiredness by singing happy birthday to me alone. Hubby had his greetings earlier today. {wink}

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Having fun in my homeland! :)

I am so thankful to God, we arrived safely in the Philippines 11 days ago. I know I am a bit delayed updating, but I find a bit challenging getting closer to the internet these days. Upon stepping on Manila on November 3, our itinerary was followed and we started to get busy, visiting families, buying some stuffs for wedding preps, and hubby had to do 4 essential things for the wedding which was done successfully as well.

Now, we are in Boracay, having fun! Hubby's liking it, and so am I :)

It's our second day today, and mostly cloudy and raining at some times, but we had a nice afternoon swim because it was not sunny. We don't have to worry about sun burns.

Next itinerary.....island hopping! Must be good and exciting seeing God's wonderful nature at sea!

Til next update. have a blessed day everyone :)

Getting a bit of stress!

One more night of sleep and we'll be heading off to Philippines. I have to do a little bit of blogging, etc. before I would finally bid goodbye to my laptop...at least I wouldn't be working with it for more than 2 weeks.

Then, would do some bills, and help hubby do the lawn, water trees, afterwhich I have to do the final packing and could finally zip the luggage..aaaaggghhh!

So, you see being a housewife is not easy. I am glad am not doing any outside work, or else I would probably die of too much exhaustion. lol!

Meantime, my mom's ticket was finally paid, as per verification from PAL. I am not happy the way it was done, (my previous post says it all) by a relative that they trusted. I told them, this is a lesson to be learned. But as of this date, the actual ticket was not yet handed to her.

Happy Halloween!

Upsetting News...and venting!

As I was talking to my mom on the phone last night, I remembered asking her if she already got her plane ticket from a cousin who offered help to book for her a ticket. My brother is getting married in Laguna, so mom has to get her ticket before November 10, the date of my brother's wedding. It so happened that my brother gave the money to this cousin because he said he trusted her. The money was given first week of October, and until now my mom can't seem to get a straight answer from her. She said she already booked it, but mom was wondering why she can't give her the ticket!

This might be an unpleasant thing to hear but I told mom and my brother that I don't trust her when it comes to money. I am aware she is my cousin, and is a relative, and I love her being a cousin, but I don't trust her when it comes to money. She can make stories, and lies, and if you'll fall into it, you'll gonna end up a victim of fraud!

I told mom to resolve this as soon as she can before the plane gets fully booked. At the same time, I told the story to my husband and he got upset.

Hubby will be calling the airline tomorrow to confirm if mom was booked. That way, we can also know if she was really telling the truth that she already booked it. I am thinking, it's 95% that my cousin is lying!

This is an issue that gets to be resolved if ever she would be caught lying and just making my mom so stupid! Just in case, I can't seem to imagine slapping once face!! am hoping not.

{{{Vent ends!}}}

Tag for my better-half

This tag came from Lisa. I am not into tagging that much, but since I got ran out of posts, this should get me running hahaha...

This photo of him was taken 10 years ago...sorry but he prefers giving me this one rather than the recent one, LOL! But anyway, he said it's still the real him, so he has a point there. :)
1. My husband's name is Craig. It's a popular name, so it's not a problem :) I call him
"beloved" as a sign of endearment.

2. We met online on a dating site...actually it's a chatting site. He sent me an email on my profile message box, and that was the start of it. It then progressed to calls and later on came to visit me in my own country of the same year we met. We met in person 3 months after chatting online in Manila, and then got married 6 months after being engaged! They said it was fast, but how can you be against love? :)

3.My husband is a jolly person. He never run out of jokes and has an awesome sense of humor! I never get bored being with him, and I love being with him all the time. He is blessed with wits and I can say he's intelligent, and at the same time a God-fearing person...the most understanding, softspoken person I've ever known in my life. I believe God gave him to me.

4. Our future plans of living in the Philippines someday is always at hand. My husband has a big heart and generously giving to our loved ones. He has a good heart for the Filipinos and have been planning to support or found a church or social welfare group to help indigent Filipino children and christian couples who can't barely make it. We are still praying for this.

I guess that's all about it...if this tag stops on me, I guess I am running out of somebody to whom I can tag this! LOL!

Have a happy weekend everyone!

Email Scam Alert!

I got an email which says like this 3 days ago. By just reading the first 2 paragraphs is already a red flag to me...smells fishy. Here it is:

ADVISERTO THE PRESIDENT FEDERAL
REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

I am Lt. Gen.ALIYU MOHAMMED, National Security Adviser to President
Olusegun Obasanjo Federal Republic of Nigeria. I decided to contact
you becauseof the prevailing security report reaching my office and
the intense nature of policy in Nigeria.

market.

But since the money was not used, I will use my position as the
National security Adviser to the President to send this fund to you.
Please you don't have to worry for any thing I will
finance the transaction.

The boxes are coming with a Diplomatic agent who will accompany the
boxes to your house address. All you need to do now Is to send to me

soon as we hear from you. Reply me immediately you receive thismessage.

Best Regards,
Lt. Gen.ALIYU MOHAMMED
National Security Adviser to the President
Federal Republic of Nigeria
email address: gen_aliyu0128@gmail.com

He even is using the names of high officials in Nigeria. I wonder how we can be able to trace this email sender who is taking his identity at risk just to scam for money!! I wonder what's the penalty for this if caught??!

Couple of years ago, I received a similar type of email like this, and the names of persons within it has only changed...geesh.
This is not only about money, but also a possible case of identity theft. There's no use replying to this scammer. But I am just curious how can we track one's IP address and locate where he is. It might not be the very exact location, but who knows, he is posing as Lt. Mohamed from Nigeria, but he is somewhere in another country.

It's a pity for the Nigerian officials being involved in this scam. How I wish this should reach their attention.

Running out of posts!

I received 6 blogs opps in one of my paid blogging sites the other night. I accepted all of them and now I am having a dilemma, lol!

Well, they require me to post each opps in between two non paid posts. I only got 48 hours to post the 6 opps, and I still have to post any regular blog (non paid). Gosh, that made me ran out of what to post!

It so happened I only have one active blog for this and so I couldn't get to post these opps to my other blog sites like here for example ;) I am currently and continously updating this blog for future use, but so far it's still pending for approval.

Oh my, oh my! Now, my husband is helping me to the rescue! hahaha...

My only wish is to add this blog on my paid blogging sites someday, to make it more active and running! {{{Praying hard!}}}

Blogging and Clicking

My laptop's going crazy because of this...I mean, there are some stubborn cookies that are making my pc slow, although I have my norton security software. I signed up for PTC sites and PTR's and so that was it.

Anyway, I still am carefully watching for bad spywares. My norton has antispyware, but not with stubborn cookies. I just get to manually clean it.

I am not giving up my PTR and PTC's, seem they are good supplements for my paid blogging. It's not a fast earning income, but when it accumulates, it's still money! LOL! And I already can request payment from my other PTC site, although I have been clicking for more than a year, LOL! But, am letting it go up til I reach 100 bucks. That would be worth it.

Hotel Reservations

Do you travel often? I do. Sometimes, when it becomes urgent, we do usually experience hassles in hotel bookings and ending up getting headaches because we end up booking in a wrong hotel (because price is too much high).

I saw online one good site for Hotel Reservations that could save you money for your travel.

WOW! ....and take a look at this, they give you $30 gas rebate too!

Feel free to visit hotel reservations, and start booking for your travel plans now. One good thing is they can book you in world wide destinations. You can choose the country you want provided in the site, and choose any vacation package that is convenient for you.

You can also have choices for best bed and breakfast packages, and if you want to rent a condo instead of getting your hotel reservations, you can do so.

They also have discount club membership which when you become a member, you can avail of as high as 70% off discount for many cities worldwide including your favorite destinations.

Hhhmmm, I am now thinking of sharing this to my husband, since we're just starting to talk about our pleasure trips at the middle of this year. This is a good option, no doubt.

Shopping for Less

I have been going around lately for some shopping for our coming trip to the Philippines. Aside for some "pasalubongs", I also shop for myself, and for home. I was able to get some for our loved ones in the Philippines. We thought they don't need to be super expensive, as mostly are kitchen accessories, and some house decorations. ..(in time for christmas). All those were well taken cared of and so, they are just waiting to be packed inside our suit cases.

Meantime, I was able to get a very nicely elegant curtain for only $10. bucks. I think original price for that in some department stores would be $20 bucks or even more!

It was the only one left on the shelf, and so I grabbed it! It so happened that it matches with our couch so, it was good!

I just recently discovered, there are lots of stuffs in Big Lots! aside from the famous dollar stores for cheaper items. I'm not promoting Big Lots, but the items are still of good quality regardless of the cheaper price. Good thing is, it's just very close to home, so it would always be good getting a drive down there to buy some more "pasalubongs"! Not bad after all!

"Adrenaline Rush"

I really was tensed watching Manny Pacquiao fight last night, and I went bleh! LOL! It was already late midnight when the fight went over...whew, thank God, Manny did it again!

We subscribed to the pay per view at HBO just to watch him on that fight, and it was nerve wrecking from round 1 to 12.

We're proud of Manny Pacquiao!!! we're proud of the Philippines...it's flag waving high up!

If you want to watch the fight, I found a good one. Here's the link:

It's loud and clear!!!

Happy viewing!

"Little G"

It was an early gift for my husband's birthday, actually. I should have posted this 2 months ago, but I didn't get the chance to. Now is the good chance, so here it is. My hubby's birthday was August 4, but I thought of getting it last week of July.

There are many things that made me get it. First, my hubby always travel to places other than his regular job. He would always go to DC and would always end up being lost along the way. Every mapquests that he did was always not working, taking wrong turns, and getting a ticket! Gosh! So, it was really a need on his part.

We call it "little G", because of its name Garmin. It's pretty working!..and a good choice. No hassles. At times, we go for trips such as Pennsylvania mostly, and we had used it several times. It's the portable type where we can install and detach it from the car and can carry it with us while walking too!...so, it's a little angel for us too! ;)

A Wonderful Miracle of God!

It is truly a touching story of a mother and her baby who fight for their lives, and God gave them another chance to live. It shows that God is always there for us and is still doing miracles for people's lives. God's miracles are not things of the past...it is still going on very strong up to this moment and seconds of time.

On 2/5/07 . Nancy was pregnant with her 4th child and had to have an emergency C-section. As soon as the doctors opened her up her uterus exploded. Baby Naomi had no heartbeat and was dead. Naomi was quickly revived and put on life support. Nancy lost blood, transfused twice, cardiac arrest three times- on respirator and in coma for 11 days... but they prayed and God answered!

Witness this God's true miracle!

Deer Creek Resort, Mt. Sterling, Ohio (Part 2)

I had a big struggle to look for a deer once more...but to no avail. I checked my video that I got from my phone, and it was not good at all. It was all blurred, and little bambi can't be seen, so I just deleted it. I wasn't able to take even a single photo..as in nada! Anyway, just to relieve me from not getting any photos for the deer, we decided to drive down to a restaurant, 15-20 miles away from our hotel. Food is good and is home cooked.I love their home style sweet tea, and hubby loves to nibble everything edible inside that restaurant, lol!

Burped!

Ben & Joy's Restaurant in Mt.Sterling downtown, Ohio

Meanwhile, we bought a cup for hubby's coffee. And it's still part of his collection. I sometimes wonder where will I placed these mug collections, hah! Hhmm, if no more options, I can use his wardrobe cabinet, lol! Here's the video clip I did to him with his beloved mug!

The Garbage Truck

How often do you let other people's nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, rude waiter, curt boss, or an insensitive employee ruin your day? Unless you're the Terminator, for an instant you're probably set back on your heels. However, the mark of a successful person is how quickly she can get back her focus on what's important.

Sixteen years ago I learned this lesson. I learned it in the back of a New York City taxi cab. Here's what happened. I hopped in a taxi, and we took off for Grand Central Station. We were driving in the right lane when, all of a sudden, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car's back end by just inches! The driver of the other car, the guy who almost caused a big accident, whipped his head around and he started yelling bad words at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was friendly. So, I said, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!" And this is when my taxi driver told me what I now call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck."

Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it. And if you let them, they'll dump it on you. When someone wants to dump on you, don't take it personally. You just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. You'll be happy you did. So this was it: The "Law of the Garbage Truck." I started thinking, how often do I let Garbage Trucks run right over me? And how often do I take their garbage and spread it to other people: at work, at home, on the streets? It was that day I said, "I'm not going to do it anymore." I began to see garbage trucks. Like in the movie "The Sixth Sense," the little boy said, "I see Dead People." Well, now "I see Garbage Trucks." I see the load they're carrying. I see them coming to drop it off. And like my Taxi Driver, I don't make it a personal thing; I just smile, wave, wish them well, and I move on.

One of my favorite of football players of all time, Walter Payton, did this every day on the football field. He would jump up as quickly as he hit the ground after being tackled. He never dwelled on a hit. Payton was ready to make the next play his best. Good leaders know they have to be ready for their next meeting. Good parents know that they have to welcome their children home from school with hugs and kisses. Leaders and parents know that they have to be fully present, and at their best for the people they care about. The bottom line is that successful people do not let Garbage Trucks take over their day.

What about you? What would happen in your life, starting today, if you let more garbage trucks pass you by? Here's my bet. You'll be happier. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so.. Love the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don't. Believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, TAKE IT! If it changes your life, LET IT! Nobody said it would be easy.... They just promised it would be worth it!

My brother's wedding...

I and my husband will be a cord sponsor for my brother's wedding couple of months from now. It's been a great honor to be invited in this kind of occasion, and my husband is very thrilled and excited too. We've been getting excited both, and we really had planned for the schedule, bought tickets and will be staying in the Philippines of 15 days...so we decided to do it "all in one" time...wedding, vacation, and etcetera!

I got myself busy lately, looking for an "old rose" color which is the motif color on their wedding. I was able to get 2 dresses, but wasn't so sure of the color, although my brother and another cousin of mine described it as a combination of maroon and pink...I tried to figure it out, and here's what I got. (first 2 dresses that I bought). They said that's a raspberry color...close to it.

This is a wild rose color, but far from it...gosh!

Then, I got the chance to talk to my brother and requested him to send me the actual color shade by email. He actually did finally, and here is the sample color.

The ribbon seems to be the accent color and the main actual color is the color of the cloth.

After a long thorough search on the net, I finally found one ....a little bit of an adjustment at the halter strap, but it's just minimal. A small alteration will do. Whew! Well, at least, I am relieved, I got the exact one!

Everyone Can't be in Your FRONT ROW

Life is a theater so invite your audiences carefully. Not everyone is holy enough and healthy enough to have a FRONT ROW seat in our lives. There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a distance. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go, or at least minimize your time with draining, negative, incompatible, not-going-anywhere relationships, friendships, fellowships and family! Everyone Can't be in Your FRONT ROW.

Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention to: Which ones lift and which ones lean? Which ones encourage and which ones discourage?Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are just going downhill? When you leave certain people, do you feel better or feel worse? Which ones always have drama or don't really understand, know and appreciate you and the gift that lies within you? Everyone Can't be in Your FRONT ROW.

The more you seek God and the things of God, the more you seek quality, the more you seek not just the hand of God but the face of God, the more you seek things honorable, the more you seek growth, peace of mind, love and truth around you, the easier it will become for you to decide who gets to sit in the FRONT ROW and who should be moved to the balcony of your life. Everyone Can't be in Your FRONT ROW. You cannot change the people around you...but you can change the people you are around! Ask God for wisdom and discernment and choose wisely the people who sit in the FRONT ROW of your life. Remember that FRONT ROW seats are for special and deserving people and those who sit in your FRONT ROW should be chosen carefully. Everyone Can't be in Your FRONT ROW.

Touring the Skyline

I know this has been long overdue but I want to share it anyway. Despite of all the stuffs I've been doing lately, it's still always a struggle for me to keep abreast.

Anyway, being a traveller is tough, but fun! On the other end of it, it's tiresome (for the packing, unpacking and re-packing....) I mean it...it's really badly tough...that's to include laundry and ironing...eeerrrr!! I always feel I would faint.

Back to the story, we got the chance to tour Skyline Caverns while we had our trip to our exact destination, Alexandria in Virginia. Going to skyline is at least 2 hours drive, so we had to save at least a day to do that to have more time.

It was my first time touring a cave, and it was cool down there.

What True marriage Is

This is actually an email attachment sent to me by a friend. It is called "Article of Love" written by Jim Paredes of Apo Hiking Society, a famous Filipino musical band in the Philippines. I am not an avid fan of Apo, but I love mostly of their songs. Anyway, back to the topic...

Just want to share Jim's article titled "Article of Love" which talks about the essentiality and what true marriage is. It's a nice article, and a very good stuff for married couples as well. For those who are still single and planning to settle down, it is a very good foundation ahead of you.

Change in Eternally Beautiful Humming in my UNIVERSE By Jim Paredes
The Philippine STAR 11/05/2006

Exactly 29 years ago on Oct. 29, Lydia and I walked down the aisle. She was 20 and I was 25, both of us wide-eyed but so sure of ourselves and our decision to stay together forever as we plunged into matrimony. We were sure, the way young people tend to be certain, that it was going to be an adventure. But little did we know that it was going to be a big one, probably the biggest one we'd ever know. Getting married is like signing a blank check. You have no idea how much it will cost you. You are committing an unquantifiable amount of material and emotional capital time, money, patience, sacrifice, and an infinite number of things you have not even begun to imagine that you must deal with eventually.

Many of them are real minefields as Lydia and I, like all couples, soon discovered. There are the in-laws, kids, expenses, the balance between career and family life, personal habits, sex, jealousy, etc. There is also the process of arriving at a "negotiated settlement" on how to deal with things like getting along with each other's friends, child rearing, spending habits, religion, hobbies, and how much "independence" the partners should be allowed. The institution of marriage, as we inherited it, was very complicated.

One of the things I found out much later in our married life is that there is a difference between a love affair and a marriage. A love affair has a dynamic that is different from a marital bond. Generally, love affairs are not meant to last. They are meant to have a beginning and an end. Why? Because they are about two separate people bonded by romantic, oceanic feelings of what seems like love. They live for the intense feeling, riding it as far as it will go and split up when the thrill is gone.

Marriage, on the other hand, is the experience of life by two people as a couple. Many times, new couples discover that they are not an easy fit, as Lydia and I discovered early on. That's why in a marital relationship one must necessarily give up big parts of himself/herself to the union to get a payback. While one may still want some privacy and independence, one cannot have them without a large dose of a shared life. From the start until the end, marriage is about two people experiencing one and the same lifetime.

It starts with romance and the sexual thrill of being with each other, but you can only count on those for so long. Anyone married for more than 10 years can attest that there are times when the attraction which seemed so strong when you first laid eyes on each other as single people can be non-existent for long periods. Viewed from the perspective of a love affair, that is certainly not a good thing. One may feel like the journey has reached a stretch of uninteresting flatlands. The joyride is over.

But from the perspective of a long marriage, this is simply a hiatus of sorts, or may even be the first signs of a qualitative the way one loves. It can be disconcerting at first but if you stick around long enough, the picture starts to get clearer. While gone may be (from time to time) the breathtaking highs and exhilarating moments, something else may be happening. Author M. Scott Peck put it so well when he wrote that "the death of romantic love can be the start of true love."

In our early years, Lydia and I felt that being married meant we had to do something dramatic all the time to keep it going. But as we got older, the doing often gave way to just being. Where before, love had to be "proven" by the sparkling diamond on her finger, or the great trip abroad, or the special dinner with wine in some plush place, love in our 29-year marriage feels no compulsion to prove itself as dramatically. Having long walks, conversations after dinner, holding hands during long drives, snuggling in bed or just simply being together sometimes without even talking, have often taken the place of all that. While sex can still be as great as ever, the truth is, as an older couple, we have discovered other ways to remain interested in each other. There is not only comfort but magic in the "ordinary," as one realizes that love can be expressed in simply caring or supporting each other's steps towards personal and spiritual growth.

One of the big recent highlights of our journey as life partners was Lydia 's big cancer scare three years ago. We felt so helpless as we tried to deal with the fear of losing each other. But we took it on as a couple. As far as we were concerned, we both had cancer. Those were days of great emotional upheaval. Ironically, they were also moments of calm and assurance. Even as we cried about it, we also learned that we loved each other enough to willingly suffer together because, paradoxically, by doing so, we eased each other's pain. This may sound flippant, if not cruel, but looking back, I can say that if I could only guarantee survival, I would
recommend cancer to everyone because of what it has done for Lydia and me. It has been such a rare opportunity to meet and accept unconditionally the hard-to-take faces of love that we often run away from. Yet when we bit the bullet, we opened ourselves to greater depth and began to see the face of the Divine in the other human being we had chosen to love. Only then did we realize that all the suffering made sense.

In the end, the very suffering we undergo turns into something eternally beautiful.
